Initiative to aid animal rescues is gaining momentum
Ottawa, ON - January 21 2015 - Empties For Paws is a new social media initiative with the goal of directing the funds from returned beer, wine, spirit, and cola products directly to the aid of animal rescues in need of funding.
Empties For Paws uses the social networking power of Facebook, Twitter, and their website to direct those willing to donate their empty containers to local rescues in need. Empties For Paws does not themselves collect any empty containers, or any money(s), they are a medium used to connect individuals with animal rescues looking for funding.
Founder, Gisele Villeneuve speaks on her idea: "I’ve been collecting my empties and donating them for years now and I’ve been trying to convince people to do the same. My goal is to challenge people everywhere to start donating their empties to their local animal rescues. I want to make it easy by having a list of rescues and drop off locations in their area."
The vision of the Empties For Paws initiative is to branch out provincially throughout Ontario, starting locally in Ottawa and the Ottawa Valley. Empties For Paws is run entirely by volunteers.
